I work closely with the families and children to pick target words or movement patterns that will lead to functional and meaningful changes for the child's speech. I structure therapy sessions to follow principles of motor learning - eliciting ample practice of selected words in engaging activities, giving multi-modal direct and specific feedback on a child's production, and moving dynamically up/down the cueing hierarchy. I also target varied rates of speech and prosody during sessions to allow for more varied and natural speech production.
