13 May Congratulations Kristen Lindeman, M.S., CCC-SLP
Congratulations to Kristen Lindeman, M.S., CCC-SLP, for graduating from the Apraxia Kids Intensive Training Institute (Apraxia Boot Camp)!
Kristen is a Speech-Language Pathologist who provides assessment, intervention, and consultation services to families of young children with communicative disorders. She specializes in early intervention and the complex developmental issues of children with motor speech disorders. Kristen completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communicative Disorders at the University of Redlands in 2004. She continued at U of R to complete requirements for the Master of Science degree in 2006, with requirements for the state license and ASHA certification completed in 2007. She has continued to pursue advanced training in areas including early intervention, autism, childhood apraxia of speech, and social thinking.
Apraxia Kids: If you were to state the #1 thing you learned from this training experience, what would that be?
Kristen: I have so much more confidence in my work after attending this training. From assessment and differential diagnosis, to treatment planning, and family support, I feel am much better equipped to help the children I see with this diagnosis.
Apraxia Kids: Tell us about any relationships that you formed through the training experience.
Kristen: The relationships developed amongst the group of therapists at Boot Camp has been invaluable. Knowing I have a support group of colleagues spread across the country yet only a click away to answer questions and collaborate on complex clinical cases is great!
Apraxia Kids: Have you served as a local resource/information source for other professionals and families since attending the intensive training?
Kristen: I have served as a local resource to the clinicians and families in the practice I work.
Apraxia Kids: What would you say to someone considering applying to boot camp next year?
Kristen: Do it! It is an amazing and challenging opportunity that is absolutely worth it!
