This training presents the scientific basis, content validity, and administration procedures for the Language-neutral Assessment of Motor Speech (LAMS). Video examples of disorders and of LAMS administration will illustrate key concepts and procedures.
1. Compare the symptoms of childhood dysarthria (CD), childhood apraxia of speech (CAS), and motor speech disorders – not otherwise specified (MSD-NOS).
2. Explain how the LAMS test helps SLPs to identify and differentiate these symptoms in a child-friendly, easy-to-administer manner.
3. Describe the administration and scoring process for the LAMS.
