Course Abstract

 

Establishing an appropriate treatment plan is essential when working with very young, minimally verbal children with suspected CAS. Traditional language stimulation techniques such as self?talk, parallel talk, environmental talk and sentence expansion will not facilitate the emergence of speech in these toddlers. Instead, an approach that focuses on motor planning skills must be utilized with an emphasis on helping these young children become communication risk takers. Ten treatment goals will be outlined in this webinar along with a variety of clinically relevant strategies and activities for use in early intervention.
